Deviousness |
Don't wanna seem cocky, but if you think that, you haven't done cosplay long enough.
But then again, I'm someone who thinks it's okay to reinvent and make redisigns as long as you stick to the core of the source. The dark knight rises- bane's mask is a clever contraption working as a plot device, loosely based on several bane-designs. Your's is a wollen balaclava with a napkin sewn on poorly by hand.
don't want to be offensive and make you hate me, and I can respect you for simply not liking the design of Cris Nolan's Bane. Just trying to tell you that if you don't have the right materials it's okay to quirk the design a bit, so that it fits more to the materials you have.
Also, the balaclava is very elastic. It should be no problem to use the machine to sew. Sewing by hand is not recomended.
I don't know. I agree that if this mask is finished, it's not that good. I agree that if you want to be a good cosplayer you either need the right materials or need to change things to make the materials you DO have look good. Totally. Those opinions just seem out of place here and I got the impression that they were talking about versions, not their creation.
I could be completely wrong and I might be perpetuating a stupid misunderstanding, in which case just ignore me.
If you look at my Batman cosplay, you might see that I am a pretty big fan of interpreting designs and making variations of that to achieve a personal style, and in that regard I applaud Nolan's costume designer.
In retrospect I know I was rude, and I apologize to TheTeenWonder for going out of line. If making costumes gives you joy, then don't let anyone stop you. You're only going to get better.
In any case, your Batman costume is awesome and I always appreciate seeing fellow DC cosplayers who actually put the time and effort into making something worthwhile. Check out my Harley Quinn cosplay if you get a chance (<--- shameless cosplay whoring).
p.s. Thank you for being one of the few reasonable people on the internet. Always appreciated.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words, and Great Harley Quinn cosplay by the way!
